Q: Lincoln MKT?
I really like the concept of this vehicle. I heard it will be an upscale version of the Flex, but it only seats 4 passengers and looks about a foot and a half smaller. Is Lincoln going to make it bigger or something?
A: Lincoln should. It is a luxury car make that normally makes large, comfortable cars.

A: It’s now available for download on the lincoln website.
In the main menu at the top, go to Media and Events, then click TV ads in the submenu. Click on the MKT ad, and there will be a download button at the bottom of the ad window.

Q: How much $MONEY$ does a person with a 675 Credit score put down to lease a Luxury Car ( Lincoln ) ?
I’m looking into Leasing a 2011 Lincoln MKT Suv Crossover but, my credit score is 675, what do YOU think I’ll have to put down as a down payment ? Also, I’m willing to put down an additional $5,000.00 down, now also a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LS as a trade, do you think my rate and payments will be high ? Help, thanks….
A: All leases have the downpayment clearly listed in the lease terms. It doesn’t matter what your credit score is, everyone pays the same amount. The downpayment is roughly 10% of the price of the car.
Go to the Lincoln website. Look up the car you want. Clearly stated right there on the home page is the down payment amount required. For the MKT they are advertising the lease plan at $534 a month for 39 months with $5633 due at signing. $4500 for the downpayment and the rest is transportation charges.

For an extra $150 ($651 a month) a month you can actually own the car in 6 years. Instead of leasing the car at $534 a month for 3 1/2 years then refinancing the rest of the car for another 4 years to finally pay off the remaining $20K you’ll still owe on the car after the lease expires.
All of this also icludes a ridiculously low 10,500 miles per year maximum. 10,500 miles a year means driving less than 28 miles per day, every day for the next 3 1/2 years. That pretty much rules out any long vacation drives or any serious commuting. If you are a guy like me who drives 70 miles a day to work and back, not counting any side trips or weekend travel, I’d run out of miles somewhere in the middle on May. I’d have to park the car for the rest of the year or start counting dimes. Every half mile I drive after May 15th would cost me a dime. It adds up fast.
At $0.20 a mile for excess mileage your fees at the end of the lease can run you thousands of dollars. Even if you held your miles to the industry standard of 15,000 miles a year you would owe $3150 in excessive mileage fees alone at the end of your lease. Plus the dealer is surely going to hit you up with excessive wear and tear fees as well, they always do no matter how clean the car is when you return it.
When you start drilling down into the numbers a lease is a terrible way to purchase a car.
