Q: I have a 2011 toyota highlander with out gps system. Can I purchase the radio with gps system and install?
A: yes but way overpriced. get a music system at crutchfield.com and a gps at any electronics dept. it’s like $100 and it’s portable.
Q: Does the 2011 Toyota Highlander come with an over-acceleration BRAKE OVER-RIDE system?
Toyota has indicated that a safety brake over-ride system, to prevent over-accelerations, has been installed in SOME of its models, but not all until 2012—Question…Does anyone know for sure if the 2011 Toyota Highlander has this in it, or will it come in 2012? This will be the deciding factor on my purchase. Thanks!
Thanks Shrelkn….I suspected as much that toyota is hiding the fix or refusing to reveal to the public what is being done in terms of the over-ride system…effective today…I wil boycot Toyota. The Ford Edge, and the Chevy Equinox, and the Subaru are by far the most reliable vehicles, and there is no subversion on those companies part.
A: A little bit off but I think this states it best
NHTSA’s Advice to Toyota Customers
Toyota consumers should check the provided list of recalled vehicles and pay close attention to their vehicles. If you are experiencing any problems with your Toyota vehicle, park the vehicle in a safe place and immediately call your Toyota dealer or Toyota’s North American headquarters at 1-800-331-4331. I wouldn’t buy a Toyota until they have made all of the changes, we don’t know if they have already or they are hiding the fact that they have. That being said, all car companies have been caught not doing what they were suppose to do. I would check out nhtsa for more info.
Q: 2011 Ford Explorer vs. 2011 Toyota Highlander?
I am having a REALLY hard time deciding which one to get. I was gonna get another car but then the Ford Explorer came out and I fell in love. However, looks can be deceiving… so what what would you recommend? My main concern is reliability; i want a car that will last me a long time and wont fall apart after 2 years.
We’ve had problems with Ford before and so have some of my friends…. should I trust Ford with the new Explorer? Or would the Highlander be the better choice?
A: i’ve never had a problem with either comany, although i’ve always driven compacts.
test drive both and see what you like, compare costs, warranties, and ask people who own each of them.
Q: Which car is better? I want more insight before i purchase a new car.?
The 2011 Toyota Highlander or the 2011 Rav4
A: they are so much different in size. both are very good but the highlander is much larger than the rav so depending on what you need or want first have to decide that. as far as both go they are very ood and realiable and price wish the rav will be low 20’s and highlander high 20’s low 30’s so again what do you want or need.
Q: Should I get leather seats?
I want to buy the new 2011 toyota highlander limited, and want to get leather seats. But heres the thing, I have a 14 year old, a 6 year old, and a 2 year old. The 14 year old and the 6 year old I’m not that worried about but the 2 year old, I’m worried. What do you think? Do you think my 2 year old will completely ruin the leather? Like wrinkle, rip, dirty, etc…
A: Leather is much easier to clean than cloth. Kool aid, soda, coffee, sticky candy, and every other kid mess wipes right off of leather with leather cleaner. Fabric, not so easy.
My 11 year old, 140,000 mile Lincoln is a veteran of two incredibly messy kids, two large dogs, and three moves and the leather is still in pretty good shape.
Q: Good car for mom of 4?
I’m a mom of 4 kids, 15, 12, 8, 6. I’m in the market for a new car, something that is spacious and inexpensive to buy in May. I AM NOT looking for minivans. I have looked at the 2011 Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, and Honda Pilot. I do not want to pay as much for gas (even though I understand that aspect of SUV’s). So which one of these is best? Or any other suggestions?
Budget is 20,000-30,000$
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com
Q: What would I have to earn a year to live like this?
I want to live in the states between West Virginia and New Hampshire(Like Maryland, Connecticut etc) but not New York
I want a nice house that is on the newer side
I want 3 dogs(because I will be living there by myself until I meet someone) a Newfoundland, Standard Poodle and a Great Dane
And I want to drive a 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid(but I am not moving out till another 3 years so I can get it now if I want)
So what will I have to make annually to have those things? And for all you people who are going to say “yeah right” or “in your dreams” etc please don’t answer if you are going to say that. I have dreams/goals just like everyone else does.
A: You need to give more specifics on the house, that is going to be your single biggest cost. Also, do you plan to rent or buy?
Q: Which Car do you like out of this list?
Volvo XC90- http://www.volvocars.com/us/all-cars/volvo-xc90/Pages/default.aspx
Mercedes-Benz GLK- http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicles/class/class-GLK
Toyota Highlander- http://www.toyota.com/highlander/
Toyota 4Runner- http://www.toyota.com/4runner/
Infiniti EX35- http://www.infinitiusa.com/ex/
Which 2011 car and why?
A: I was in your shoes 5 months ago except I had Acura RDX and Volvo XC60 in the mix too. I have test droven all these cars except Volvo (it has the best safety, thats all).
I ended up buying EX35 and am very happy wth my choice so far. It’s cheaper than all of them comparing the features that comes with it. It’s interior is not comparable to other cars in your list. It’s powerful under the hood (300 HP). I drove it on the snow and it passed its test (buy the AWD).
However, if you want to buy an SUV for mostly off-roads, EX is not your choice and you might wanna get Toyota 4Runner.
If you have no rush to buy, wait till the 2012 models are about to surf and then go for 2011 so you can get hell of a discount and insentives from dealers. I got $8000 under MSRP the same way.
Good luck!
Q: How good and reliable is the new 2011 Ford Explorer?
I looking to buy a 7 seater SUV and I really fell in love instantly with new Explorer with its bold and aggressive look. FORD really started to grab my attention with all its new vehicles lately in fact.
I know that the Highlander and Pilot are very popular in this category for a longtime now coming from the highly reliable Japanese brands.
But I am not able to get out of the explorer fever. I would like to keep this for good ( I mean for a very longtime ) which means it has to be as reliable as a HONDA/TOYOTA. Though FORD is claiming that they are as reliable or even better than them now, couple of things that are really bothering me and I fear if I am going to regret later on for not going with the proven and trusted names.
1. Since I want it for a longtime, Can I trust FORD and buy it with same peace of mind that I would get from buying a HONDA/TOYOTA?
2. I have no idea of FORD vehicles and their reliability history, so I am basically novice talking about FORD. So people who have knowledge have to help me educate. I do not like to buy something this expensive with blind knowledge.
When you don’t know something, best thing to do is ask those who know about it!..I just don’t want to regret maybe 5 yrs down the lane that I have chosen a bad product without properly checking facts…Thank you
A: I would go with the Ford, I’m still driving my ‘97..
